About Me
Welcome first graders! I am so excited to be your teacher this year! I am confident that we will learn, laugh, explore, and create many memories together this year!
This is my fifth year teaching at Dundee Elementary School, all of which have been in first grade. I am also the president of the PTO, so you'll likely find me at many school events! I live in Maybee with my husband, Doug, and our two (very spoiled!) dogs, Ace and Ari. Before teaching in Dundee, I was a substitute teacher in Monroe and Washtenaw County for three years. I completed my student teaching experience at Symons Elementary School in Milan, Michigan. I have also had the opportunity to teach on two different Distinguished Title I Native American reservations in Arizona! In my free time, I love to travel! I enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing in northern Michigan. Every summer, I visit Lake Gogebic in the U.P., and I always enjoy a kayak trip down the AuSable River! I also love going to the beach, playing with my dogs, and spending quality time with my friends and family. I am a lifelong learner, and I truly believe that learning should never stop! After graduating high school, I earned my Associate's Degree of Science from Monroe County Community College. From there, I went on to Eastern Michigan University, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a double minor in Mathematics and Language Arts. I then went to Marygrove College, where I completed my Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy. I also love to attend conferences around the country and am always looking for fresh ideas to bring back to my classroom! |
